ARE WE TO HAYE A BROWN SEASON? Many eolours are on the market, and, of course, dre'sses of every colour in and out of the rainbow are seen. But, according to present signs, the colour which will star this season is brown. All the newest and smartest day dre'sses and suits one sees in the Paris modes just now are in some variation of brown — mastic, cinnamon, bronze, tan. These shades are very adaptahle, and suit most women. Brown tulle dresse's are the acme of smartness. It is a colour that never grows monoton-
ous. One of the most successful ball !
dresses I have ever seen was a study | in brownj tulle, not one shade, but many, and the gown had an individuality of its own. Black for Evening. Then, black evening dresses are in strong favour. A woman who wears a black evening froek always scoreis (in men's eyes). Airy-fairy black tulle frocks are most wonderfully hecoming. Green, one never gets tired of, hothj for afternoon and evening wear. It is a most hecoming colour, ' either in tulle or in crepe de chine. j
