FAMOUS REGIMENT
ROYAL SCOTS CQMPLETE THREE CENTURIES' SERVICE London, March 20. In a few weeks' time The Royal Scots will complete 300 years as a regiment of . the British Army, and arrangements are in hand for celebrating the occasion in the battalions at home and in India, and in Seotland. It is expected that the regiment will mark the anniversary with an historical display at the Royal Tournament in May. The famous 1st Foot was brought on the establishment early in 1633 after previous service as a military corps. It has been a Royal regiment throughout the centuries, with the number of its battalions fluetuating. In 1913 it had four battalions abroad and over a century later placed 35 in the field, including the 1st and 2nd battalions of the City of Lothian.
