CARD EVENING.
The Mayoress of Rotorua (Mrs. T. Jackson) and wives of councillors also entertained the wives of delegates at an informal card evening held during the conference at the Tea Kiosk. Mrs. Jackson received the guests on arrival in a frock of gumnetal ring velvet and assisting her were Mrs. G. Urquhart, L. J. Bayfeild, Mrs. F. C. Bunyard, Mrs. A. Smith, Mrs. W. A. McLean, Mrs. E. T. Johnson, and Mrs. N. M. Keanei. The room had been most artistieally arranged with bowls of periwinlde blue hydrangeas and russet zinnias. Progressive hridge and 500 was played during the evening, the winner of the former being Miss H. Brigham (Auckland) and the latter Mrs., Cohnle. Among the ladies present were: — Mrs. G. Hutehison, Mrs. Bovis, Mrs. Norcross, Mrs. Jone's, Mrs. Lovelock, Mrs. Stilwell, Mrs. Ferner, Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. MacPherson, Mrs. Hohhs, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Beanland, Mrs. Neville, Mi's. Coleman, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Harker, Mrs. O'Loughlan Mrs. White, Mrs. Moffatt, Mrs. Osborne, Mrs. Strahan, Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Rockstrow, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. O'Shea, Mrs. Denbee, Mrs. Brigham, Mrs. Martin, Miss H. Brigham, Miss Wilson, Mrs. R. P. Spedding, Mrs. J. Lenihan, Mrs. J. Thomas, Mrs. W. A. Carter, Mrs. D. M. Ford, Mrs. Cohnle, Mrs. Oldham, Miss E. Riobinson, Miss P. St. Clair, and Miss G. La Trobe Hill.
