PAYMENTS IN GOLD Rec. March 8, 7.0 p.m. New York, March 7. The Federal Reserve Bank here was authorised by the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. W. Woodin, to resume making advances of currency to its members providing they deliver to the resex-ve institution all gold and gold certificates which the banks own in their own right in return for other forms of currency. The State legislatxxre approved the plan launched by Governor Lehman for a State wide issuanee of scrip.
