BAY OF PLENTY PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE AT OPOTIKI. The Bay of Plenty Provincial Conference of the W.D.F.U. was held at Opotiki on Friday, in the Farmers' Rooms, Mrs. Grace (Taneatua) was in the chair, and in opening the meeting, expressed her pleaaure- at seeing so many present. The delegates then read the Women's Creed. The minutes of the last meeting held at Te Puke, were read by Mrs. Mitchell. The correspondence consisted of letters from the Provincal Secretary re the engaging of W.D.F.U. housekeepers. A discussion followed in connection with the appointment of and it was resolved to obtain permission to support the housekeepers at Wahi. Re-mits were read from two smaller branches of the division, asldng if something could be done in connection with the levy super-imposed on the usual subscription. The smaller branches stated that as their i'unds were not large it was difficalt to pay the levy. Delegates present afc the meeting were: — Mesdames Grace and McCready (Taneatua), Haultam (Awakeri), Mitchell and White (Tauranga), A. E. Martin, C. Ho'iland, P. Jennings, A. Dodgson, Lowe, L, Fox, C. D. Brown, M. Carrol, H. Appleton, G. F. Joblin (Opotiki).
