UNION OFFICIAL8 SETTLE DIFFERENCES OUT OF COURT

Wellington, Wednesday. A claim for dainages by . P. Walsh, general president of the Seamen's Union, against Charles Bakei', Wellington district secretary of the Freezing Workers' Union, for £1000 damages for alleged libel, wa.s struck out in the Supreme Court on the announeement of a settlement out of Court. 'The Chief Justice said he was very glad to hear that the action had been settled. He had read the pleadings, and it did seem a little unfortunate that two men engaged in the same interest but representing different unions should be at loggerheads. The terms were not disclosed.
