COMPETITION FOR BAY RI CHALLENGE SHIELD ON MARCH 17. TRENTHAM REPRESENTAT (From Our Own Correspond The Bay of Plenty Cha Shield competition open to all 1 Plenty Defence rifle clubs v competed for on the Rangitaiki at Thornton on \March 17t Patrick's Day. The event is an i one and the winning team hol shield for one year. The rul down st'pulate that the. trophy be won outright.
The competition was firs' menced in 1929, when it W£ by the Rangitaiki club. Ii and 1931 Opotiki proved to winners. In 1932 Rangitaiki won the shield. They now ho the Challenge Shield and the Challenge Star for teams o men aside. Encouraging Standard. Six of the ten riflemen "W represent the Rangitaiki club Patrick's Day held a practic last Saturday. The conditioi seven shots at 500 and 61 ranges. The shooting was of standard. Mr. C. J. Fleming scorer with 66.
The scores were as follows SOOyas. 600; C. J. Fleming 33 3 W. Moore 32 3 C. Jespersen 33 3 E. Morey, Sen. 34 3 H. T. Mexted 33 3 R. Wilson 31 2 The president, Mr. R. Wi! Mr. C. J. Fleming will repr club at the Trentham Rifle on March Sth. On Saturday continqed his shoot to the range and scored 33 making 99 out of a possible of 10 This will he Fleming's i to Trentham.
