GRAND THEATRE

TO-NIGHT. The foreign latmosphere of holiday gaiety and beauty that makes Agua Caliente comparable only to Europe's Deauville, is brought to the motion picture screen in "Fast Companions," stirring story of a race-tnack jockey and his regenerative ragamuffm pal. For the sequences at the Agua Caliente Handicap now showing at the Grand Theatre are authentic scenes o*f the famous resort, photogxapbed on a gala day. A production staff of 75 people was sent to Caliente from Hollywood for an entire week. The winter racing season was in full swing, land scenes of the Agua Caliente Handicap, the "world's richest race," were photo-g-raphed. Tbis race has a gross value of approximately £28,000, with a guarantee of not less tban £20,000 to the winner. The huge, rambling Caliente Hotel and its Mexiean patio are in "Fast Companions." And what is more, the interior of the world-renowned gambling room, where thousands of dollars change hands-every night, has been photographed for films for the first time. Young Tom Brown heads the cast including James Gleason, Maureen O'Sullivan, Andy Devine, and Mickey Rooney.
