WHAKAREWAREWA

(To the Editor.) gir> I have been to Whaka several times' and have thought how much more attractive it could be made if all those iron-roofed whare's were renlaced by whare s exactly like the Maoris. lived in before the whites Jl came' to New Zeaiand. I would like to see the Maoris living as they lived in those days with whares thatched with raupo or flax. It would be far more attractive in every way, more especially for tourists. I would like to see a safe wooden fence erected round that boiling death-trap near the entrance leading to the model pah. The pa is all that could be desired,- I am . etc .
