When their dollar is returned to Ameriea we are again penalised, in as much as we get only about 4s 2d per dollar, 2s 7d less than we gave. But this is tu credits, so that we actually pay twice on exehange, 2s 7d and 8d, | making all told a dead loss on the transaction of 3s 3d. There are supposed to be business experts at the head of o.ur Government. Well, they are either hypnotised, gone to sleep, or are culpably negleotful or ignorant. One could almost accuse them of the lot, otherwise we would not have drifted into Such a deplorable mess as we are in. Perhaps our American cousins can shed some light on our mental ineptitude. — I am, etc.,
