RECIPE EVENING
Last Tuesday evening Miss M. Mactier was hostess at a very jolly and unique recipe evening given at her home in Haupapa Street for Mrss Ethel Sharpe and Miss Joan Ilodgson, in honour of their approaching ma.rriages. Games, competitions and musical items whiled away a very pleasant time and each guest contrihuted an autographed recipe to two books which were afterwards presented to the brides-to-be. Miss Mactier received her guests in a smart frock of midnight blue marocain and her rcception room was most artistically arra.nged with scarlet and gold dahlias. The guests of honour, Miss Ethel Sharpe and Miss Joan Hodgson, wore lietty hlue crepe de chine and shell pink floral georgette respectively. The 'winners of the j novelty competitions were Miss Gwen Dillon, Miss Gwen Palces, and Miss Jcan Winslade. Among those present were: — Mrs. Lunt, Mrs. J. Hemphill, Mrs. J. Mewburn, Miss J. Garroway (Takapuna), Miss M. Lasenby, Miss Hitchens, Miss G. Dillon, Miss G. Pakes, Miss 0. Shultz and Miss J. Winslade.
