JOURNALISTS' WANDERINGS THROUGH DISTURBED LANDS
-By Telegraph — Copyrlght).
Rec. Feb. 23, 7 p.m. London, February 23. Two journalists, one named Richards> and the other a New Zealander, C. W. Lusty. had lively experiences while on a motoi'-eycle tour abroad. They were twice arrested in Spain as suspected Communists during the Catalonian rising. They were also twice arrested in Algeria on the suspicion of being deserters from the French Foreign Legion, and were arrested three times for travelling without passports. They were finally captured by Arab bandits in the Atlas Mountains, but were released when it was f ound they were without money. It is probable that the other journalist mentioned is Mr. Ceredig Richards, also a New Zealander, and at one time a member of the staff of the Rotorua Chronicle. A letter recently received in Rotorua from Mr. Richards, stated that he was on a cycle tour through Europe with another journalist and although the letter was written two months ago, it is possible that he is the Richards referred to in the message.
