RUN IN THE RAIN first flight proves herself good mudlark. realty also wins double.

Epsom, Wednesday. Heavy rain upset the running considerably in the second day of the Auckland Trotting Club's February meeting at Epsom to-day and the favourites as a rule were unsuccessful. Tknes sho'wed that the track remained in fair condition for a start but later was very soggy. Pelting rain set in at the second race and this kept a few of the public away. Tote Shows Increase The totalisator handled £16,848, an increase of £951 for the day. The total for the meeting was £36,983, an increase of £7064 on last year's meeting. Te Mahanga and Fisher closed up to her, but she won by two lengths from Te Mahanga, with Edna Worthy three quarters of a length back. Fisher. Raider, Home Brew and Gold Seam followed. MACKENZIE HANDICAP Limit 4.32; 2 miles. 2/1— FIRST FLIGHT, 12yds— A. W. Broughton 1 1/2— KEWPE'S GUY, 24yds 2 3/8— KEWPIE'S TRIUMPH; limit. 3 Kewpie's Guy and Pageant were coupled on the maehines.

Pageant was first away from Kewpie's Triumph, Silver de Oro and Brentlight with First Flight making up ground. There was not much alteration to the straight where Kewpie's Triumph, First Flight and Pageant led Raydus and Kewpie's Guy. First Flight won by three-quarters of a length from Kewpie's Guy with Kewpie's Triumph a bare half -length - away. Pageant, Silver de Oro, Auto Machine and Peter Pirate were next. Hohoro, Homeward and Nelson's Chum were the early leaders but the last-named went away followed by Realty, Lady Coronado and Silver Bingen, with, Free Logan moving up. Realty hung on to heat Free Logan with Lady Coronado third followed by Hohoro, Silver Bingen and Dad's Hope. RICHMOND HANDICAP Limit 3.36; 1^ miles. 2 — WEE MACHNE, limit— G. t. Mazda broke up at the. start and Prince Etawah made play from Wee Machine. Prince Etawah broke up at the top and Wee Machine flashed past him to win easily by 21 lengths with Mazda chains away.

No times taken. Parrish Belle and Zanzibar made play from Nicoya and Marble Star, but when the business end was reached Nicoya came on to win easily from 1 Zanzibar who outstayed Parrish Belle FORBES HANDICAP 1/1— FIRST FLIGHT, 24yds— A. W. Broughton 1 2/2— GREAT PARRISH, limit 2 7 / 7— KEY/PIE'S TRIUMPH, 24 3 Also: 8/8 Raydus, limit; 6/4 Carnui, Pageant (bracket), 9/9 Brentlight 4/5 Dan Direet, 10/10 Nelson Tasker, 3/3 Silver de Oro, 5/5 Wilma Dillon, 12yds. A length; 3 length. Time 2.51. First Flight eompleted the double for Wilfred Johnstone in the Forbes Handicap. After Great Parrish, Raydus, and ' Carnui had made the running, Dan Direct showed up momentarily but the black mare asserted her claim at the distance to beat Great Parrish by a length with Kewpie's Triumph three-quarters of a length away. Realty gathered up his field and won narrowly.
