FIRST STEP TO REMOVE CONTROL FROM STATE

Sydney, February 17. The Premier. of New South Wales, Mr. B. S. Stevens, anncunced that the Government intends to create a Public Utility Corporation to control tram and bus services, and later if satisfied that private capital is available for conducting these services, it will be prepared to dispose of them subject to certain- safeguards regarding fares and freights. The corporation for the present will act in an advisory capacity to the existing Transport Commission.
