-By Telegraph— Copyright).
Rec. Feb. 17, 7.55 p.m. Brisbane, Feb. 17. It is understood that the British Rugby Union authorities have refused to agree to certain alterations in the rules which Australian players consider vital in the interests of the game in this country. The authorities are awaiting a letter from England detailing the views in order that some way out of the 1 critical situation may be f ound. They contend that a return to the international law would be fatal to the code of Queensland which has 11 players in the Australian team going to South Africa in April. It is understood that it is also proposed to send an Australian Rugby Union colt team to New Zealand towards the close of the coming season, if this is aceeptable to New Zealand. The All Blacks will also be invited to meet the Australian 1934 Wallabies who will he fresh from the South African tours.
