GOVERNMENT NOT READY TO AUTHORISE RELEASE

Rec. Feb. 7, 10.15 p.m. Calcutta, February 7. Many questions regarding Gandhi wero asked in the Legislative Assembly yesterday. Sir Harry Haig, Home member, replying, declared thdt the Government was not prepared to agree to Gandhi's release as, according to a statement hy Danghi last month, disobedience was still the avowed policy of the Congress Leader, and his release would lead to intensification of the resistance campaign.
