INFLUENZA SPREADS
ALARMING GRIP OF EPIDEMIC THROUGHOUT BRITAIN ' SERIOUS DEATH ROLL Rec. Jan. 27, 11 p.m. London, January 27. Influenza is still spreading in Great Britain. Last week the deaths were 1589. Many other European countries are experiencing th© epidemic, but none so seriously as Great Britain, which had 1041 deaths for the week ending January 14. The world-wide total is 3,000. It is now estimated that from 10 to 15 per cent of the whole adult population are -down with the disease.
