Masterton, Tuesday. The North Island tennis championships were continued to-day. The results were as follows: — Ladies Championship singles : — Quarter final: Miss Howell beat Miss Haggitt 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 ; Miss Rutherford beat Miss Macassey 8-6, 3-6, 6-3 ; Miss Bell beat Mrs. Glenny, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Semi-finals: — Miss White beat Miss V. Rutherford, 6-2, 6-1. Ladies Championship doubles : — Final. — Misses L. and M. Rutherford beat Misses Beetham and V. Rutherford, 6-3, 6-1. Combined doubles : — Miss Todd and White beat Miss Swainson and Swainson, 6-3, 6-1; Miss Macassey and Gould beat Mrs. Glenny and Howell, 6-4, 6-2. Semi-finals: — Miss White and Todd beat Miss L. and M. Rutherford 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
