FAREWELL DANCE

MARRIAGE OF OLD iPUPILS On Monday evening in the Lyric Ilall the O.D.H.S. Old Pupils' Association held a very pleasant farewell dance for Miss Loma Cave and Mr. Norman Webb, who are to be married to-day (Wednesday). Both the guests of honour were members of ihe Old Pupils' Association. Many useful gifts were brought by the ladies. During the evening the gentlemen of the committee acted as Masters of Ceremony and the Semla Orchestra supplied the music with appreciated extras by Mrs. F. Bennett and Miss T. Hambly. A very clever step dance was contributed by Miss Zelda Stevens, of Auckland. After supper Mr. L. Kelly,) on behalf of the association, welcomed the guests of honour and wished them the best of happiness in their forthcoming marriage. He said that both Miss Cave and Mr. Webb had held prominent positions in the association and had made many friends. He then aslced Miss Cave to accept the gifts which had been donated by the ladies. Mr. Webb, speaking on Miss Cave's behalf, thanked the ladies for their fine presents and said that they both felt indebted to the old pupils for the enjoyable function. He stated that they both wished to take an active part in the association's affairs and hoped that they would find opportunities to be enthusiastic supporters although they would not be living in Opotiki. i "For They are Jolly Good Fellows" was sung and three hearty cheers given. Amongst the ladies present were: Mesdames F. C. Cave, fawn georgette and lace; E. Webb, dove marocain; A. Short, white georgette with lace; F. Bennett, pink spotted rayon; F.
