RESULTS WHAKATANE CYCLE CLUB'S EVENING MEETING RECORD LOWERED

Following are the results of the Whakatane Cycle Club's weekly meeting held on Friday evening. Two unsuccessful attempts by D. Aberhart to lower the quarter-mile and twomile reeords failed, but J. Whitten lowered his own record for the quar-ter-mile by 1 4-5 seconds, his time being 32 seconds. Three miles. — J. Whitten (scr), 1; E. Wilson (300yds), 2; S. Doncaster (200yds), 3. Won by three inches, with half a wheel between second and third. Time., 7.28 1-5. Women's race, half a mile. — A. Cartwright (scr.), 1; G. Doncaster (60yds), 2; B. Baker (20yds), 3. Time, 1.31. Boys' race, half a mile. — D. Brown (scr.), 1; D. Bryenton (15yds), 2; W. Penny (200yds), 3. Senior half -mile. — E. Ryan (95 yds), 1; A. Landeh (85yds), 2; R. Harland (65yds), 3.
