Auckland, Sunday. Grave injuries to the head and a fractured skull were received by James Arkhurst, aged 20 years, of Pukekohe, as the result of being knocked off his bicycle by a motor truck in Great South Road, Takanini, at an early hour this morning. Arkhurst, who is employed as an operator at a city picture theatre, when riding toward Papakura at one o'clock, was overtaken by the truck, driven by M. H. Alexander, of Clevedon. The truck eollided with the cycle from the back and Arkhurst was thrown heavily. He was brought in to the Auckland hospital. His condition is serious
