BETTY COMPSON KNOWS HER ROBBER BUT FEARS A RIDE

Washington, January 6. A Hollywood message states that in a sealed police report op'ened to-day, it was diselosed that Miss Betty Compson, who was held up in her home- on Thursday, night and robbed of her jewels was aware of the identity of the robber. Miss Compson, th'e report said, was afraid to name the intruder because he might "take her for a ride." The police said they had summoned her and Ed. Leshin, her ex-produc-tion manager, with whom she was playing cards at the time, to headquarters for a second questioning. "Miss Compson was hysterical following the robhery and we were unable to get a comprehensive account from her," declared Captain Tom Carman.
