MONK FROM TIBET
800-YEAR-OLD MANUSCRIPT. A man whom wild animals of the jungle will not touch has arrived in London, after remarkable adventures in the forbidden city, Lhassa, in Tibet He is Rahui Sankrityana, a learned Buddhist monk from a remote monastery in Ce.ylon. Some months ago he cut himself of? from human society and became a lonely wanderer in the most mysterious country in the world. At night he slept under trees, safe from prowling jungle beasts. By day he made his way along tortuous and dangerous mountain paths, eating only fruit and herbs. Finally he reached the "forbidden city" and lived-like one. of the Tibetan monks in a monastery. During his stay in Tibet he discovered a rare manuscript which he has brought with him to London. It is 800 years old and written on palm leaves. It unfolds the secrets of Buddhist mysticism.
