The Govwrnment meteorolofilst Issued the following weather rep«)rt and forecast last night: — General situation: The anti-cy-clone is gradually moving eastward, but the depression on the Tasman Sea appears to be losing its intensity owing to the developme'nt of a tropical low pressure area. Forecast: Winds north easterly to northerly gradually freshening. Weather: Becoming unsettled in western and far southern districts of the South Island with rain setting in; elsewhere still fair, but haze increasing generally with rain etending to | the western and northern portions of the North Island; warm temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and* minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 houj-s ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
