PHILANTHROPIC MISSION A succe^sful novelist who h'as written five "best sellers" and is a friend of H. G. Wells and John Galsworthy, is a philanthropist who lives in a. London workhouse, though he is welloff. His name is Christopher Massie. His philanthrophy takes the form of educating clever slum children. Th'e proceeds of his latest novel he is devoting to the education of a little girl 11 years of age. He hopes to give her an education that will give hdr a chance in life, he isays. Massie is 52 years old.
