Rec. Dec. 27, 11 p.m. Melbourne, Dec. 27. In the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria, New South Wales, in the first innings made 388. Bowling, Alexander took four for 107, .Nagel, one for 90; Ironmonger five for 87 ; Fleetwood-Smith, none for 73, Darling none for 18. Victoria in the first innings made 258, O'Brien 53; Bromley, 84; Woodfull 19, Ponsford 12. Bowling, Howell to.ok four for 69; O'Reilly four for 52; McCabe one for 34. A feature of the Victorian innings was Woodfull's and Ponsford's failure, and also O'Brien and Bromley'a excellent batting. This was Bromley's first appearance in Sheffield Shield cricket.
