THE CARNIVAL
TO-NIGHT'S BIG ATTRACTION Yesterday marked the opening of Rotorua's weelc of carnival which will culminate in the. grand finale on New Year's Eve. Last evening King Carnival, inappropriately accompanied by Messrs Forbes and Coates (incog.) was given the freedom of the borough, and from now on his Majesty's reign will prevail. This evening's hig attraction is the Rotorua Swimming Club's grand carnival at the Blue Baths when visiting swimmers from all parts of the North Island will be 'competing. The first event is timed to start at 7.30 p.m., and patrons will be well advised to be in their places early, as seating accommodation will almost certainly be taxed to capacity.
