Visitors to Sports Meeting Among those present at the atliletic carnival conducted by the Rotorua Athletie and Cyeling Cluh yesterday were: — Mr. H. D. Bennett, of Wellington, chairman of the New Zealand Amateur Cyeling Council and Mr. Leo Marter,' the well-known athletie official of Hawera. Australiaii Visitors A particularly large nuipbeY of Australian visitors are scheduled to arrive in Rotorua this holiday season and one large party arrived on Saturday and was handled hy the R.M. Company. Bookings and inquiries from Australia are reported to be more encouraging this year. Sightseeing Flights A number of visitors in town yesterday employed the Rotorua Airways' 'pMne for sightseeing trips over the town. Christmas Decorations All hotels and boarding-houses in Rotorua treated Christmas in the proper festive spirit and carried out special decorations in tune. with the mood of the hour. One of the most attractive decorative sehemes was Carried out at Lake House where the dining room was reeorated most eharmingly in green and gold. An unusual feature was an ornamental floral fountain in the centre of the room with gold fish swimming in a tiny pool at the base.
