FRJENDLY MATCH PLAYED BY TENNIS CLUB MEMBERS

During the week-end the eastern side members of the Tennis Cltib challenged the western side to a friendly tournament; tbe western side was vietorious by eight sets to three. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies, Card Evening A 500 tournament was held on Wednesday evening- in aid of the tennis club funds. The winners were, Mr. Marcroft and Mr. W. P. McPherson. The consolation winners were, Mrs. J. Moule and Mr. P. Cronin. Personal Miss Colleen Cronin leaves on Tuesday morning* to spend the holidays at Waihi beach. Mr. and Mrs. G. Robinson and family leave during the week-end to spend the vacation camping at Ohope Beach. Miss Jessie Martin has returned from a prolonged holiday at Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. Revell, of Mangere, Auckland, have arrived to spend the holidays at their camp cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Russell and family, of Kohimaramara, are spending the holidays at their bach. Miss M. McLean, of Wellington, is the guest of Miss Jean Isdale during the Christmas holidays. Mi'. M. Cambie is spending a few days holiday in Tauranga. Master I. Reid, of Hamilton, is visiting Ngongotaha, where he is the guest of his aunt, Mrs. W. McPherson. Mrs. K. Davies has returned from a visit to Auckland.
