Paris, December 22. The Government announees that it is ready tq negotiate with Washingfon on the lines of the vote of the Chamber of Deputies with a view to a general debt settlement. The Government is grateful for the serious effort made in Washington since the French vote for a smoothing over of the difficulties. Referring to the internal situation the Government insists on drastic cuts and sacrifices by all citizens and a reorganiation of the public services.
