FAITHFUL DOG KILLED AFTER SAVING ^ FAMILY RUN OVER BY OWNER

New Ply mouth, Thursday. Warned by the whining and harking of a dog, J. R. Hansen's household at Okato awakened to find the house in flames. They had only time to collect some clothes and escape from the burning huilding. The fire also swept several farm buildings. The faithful dog, which probably : aved three lives, met a cruel fate. Mr. Hansen was returning from telephoning the insui'ance company, which held a policy for £550, when a motor car ran over the dog and killed it.
