RE-CAPTURED
ESCAPEE JUMPS FROM WINDOW INTO ARMS OF POLICE Whangarei, Thursday. After being at liberty for a week Allan Alfred Beehre, who escaped from the Whangarei lock-up where he was held on a commitment warrant, was re-captured last night at the Public Works camp at Titoki. The hut in which he sought concealment was surrounded by the police. In attempting to get away Beehre jumped through a window right into the arms of a constable. Charged this morning with being an incorrigible rogue, accused was sentenced to three months' hard labour, concurrent with a sentence of fourteen days, for default in the. payment of a previous fine, and on an indictment for a breaeh of his probation order was convicted and dis* charged.
