BRIDEGROOM'S QUESTIONABLE METHODS LEAD TO ARREST NEW BRIDE LOYAL

Auckland, Thursday. Arrested at a seaside resort while on his honeymoon Ernest Henry Ricketts (50), motor driver, will spend the next two months in the Mount Eden Gaol. The police said accused, while staying at the hoarding-house of a man named White, got a moneylender out to the house, and by representing himself as White and the owner of the furniture ohtained £8. Then he got married on the £8. The probation officer said accused's practice was to get into touch with clergymen. They found hirn jobs and he let them down. He deserted his wife in Christchurch some years ago. Counsel for accused said his bride was prepared to stick to him.
