GIFT TREE SOCIAL
A successful gift tree social was held in the Salvation Army Hall on Monday evening. A gaily decorated Christmas tree, the branches of which were laden with paclcages, was erected on the platform and a great variety of gifts was distributed by the chairman, Captain G. R. Thompson, to the large number present, during tho musieal programme. Items were eontributed by the full band, assisted by local talent among whom were Bandsman S. Yeoman (trombone solo), Bandsman R. Morley (baritone solo), Bandsman Dalton (steel guitar solo), Bandsman Yeoman and R. Young (trombone and eupho. duet), Mr. J. Thompson (organ solo), Miss V. Thompson (contralto), Miss E. Webb (reeitation).
