Dunedin, Tuesday. In reply to a question, the Minister of Finance, the Hon. Downie Stewart said no doubt there was a tremendous . infiux of goods from Japan. He had thought that question mi'ght have been brought up at Ottawa by th'e other Dominions, but probably they had not yet felt the full impact 'of competition. Expansion of the industfies concerned was phenomenal and the statistics extraordinary. One was led to the conclusion that some steps must be taken to meet the situation.
