ST. JOHN'S CHURCH
NEW MINISTER INDUCTED TO ROTORUA CIIARGE The induction of the Rev. J. C. Young, B.A., late of Leeston, Canterhury, to the mmistry of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Rotorua toolc F'lace in, the church on Friuay evening*. The scating accommodation was taxed to capacity. The Rev. JI. G. Gilbert, Hamilton, Moderator of the Waikato Presbyterian Assembly, presided, and inducted Mr. Young to his new charge. Associated with him were the Rev. S. J. Atkins, Frankton, wh'o gave the .address, the Rev. A. G. Hampton, Matamata, interim moderator, who addressed the newly-inducted minister, and the Rev. J. H. Starnes, Morrinsville, who addressed the congregation. Aftcr the service, a social of welcorne was given to Mr. Young in St. John's Hall. After a delightful supper had heen served hy the ladies of the congregation, speeclies welcoming Mr. Young were made hy repreisentatives of the chief institutions of th'e church, and other cliurches in the town. Mr. F. A. Gainsford spoke on hehalf of thc church session and the Sunday School, Mr. Geo. Urquhart for the management committee, Mrs. W. Jones for the Ladies' Guild, Mrs. E. iRohertson (senior) for the P.W.M.U. and Miss Treacy Johnson for the biblo classes. In addition, Archdeaeon F. W. Chatterton welcomed Mr. Young on behalf of the Church of England, the Rev. W. H. Speer on behalf of the Methodist Church and the Rev. H. G. Gilbert on behalf of the Presbytery. Mr. Young suitably responded. Mr. Gainsford then tendered the thanks of the congregation to the Rev, A. C. Hampton for his services as Interim Moderator, and pres'ented him with a cbeque.
