Rec. Dec. 16, 10.45 p.m. ' Launceston, Dec. , 16. The Englishmen. commenced their first match in Tasmania at Launceston to-day in fine weather and on a true wicket. Wyatt won the toss and opened with Sutcliffe. The Yorkshireman batted hrightly, scoring 101 in. one hour 66 minutes hitting two sixes and six fours. * Pataudi played attractive cricket, scoring a century in 139 minutes, hitting eight fours. The total of 300 was reached in 223 minutes, and half an hour later 50 had been added, the total heing three for 395.
