NEW U.S. MINISTER
Washington, Dec. 16. The President (Mr. Hoover) has appointed Colonel Nathan William MacChesney (Illinois) to be the United States Minister in Canada in succession to Mr. Hanfoi'd MacNider, who has resigned. Colonel MacChesney, who is aged 54, was formerly a Judge at Chicago.
