Dunedin, Wednesday. A case of abhorrent cruelty was . reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals hy an inspector, who stated that investigation of a complaint by a Roslyn resident showed that his cat's tongue had been cut out at the root, while only a fortnight earlier a cat belonging to a neighbour had its hind legs fastened together by a wire twisted through , the sinews. The police are endeavouring to trace the culprit.
