ALLEGED DISTRIBUTOR FINED IN POLICE COURT

Auckland, Tuesday. A Chinese fruiterer, Allan Lumon, aged 3 2years, appeared in the Police Court, charged with unlawfully having in his possession 21 packets of prepared opium. Detective-Ser-geant Kelly said that accused would not disclose where the drug was obtained. A bankbook in the possession of accused, who was described by Sergeant McHugh as a distributor of opium, showed a credit of £80. Answering questions, accused denied that the bank was in connection with an opium trust fund. He said the money belonged to his brother who was a carrier, but who made more money than most carriers. AnCused was fin-ed £50 in default three months' imprisonment.
