BRADMAN WOULD HAVE MADE A GREAT DIFFERENCE

Rec. Dec. 8. m
•London, Dec. 7. J. B. Ilobbs, writing in the Star, eongratulates D. R. Jardine on his captaincy, and gives H. Lai'wood the major lionours for the victory. He expresses the opinion that Australia should make several changes for the next test, hut if wise, will not repeat the oceasional mistakes of the English selectors in trying too many players. W. J. O'Reilly made the leg break lift disconeertingly, and bowled so well that Hobbs confessed he would have trembled for England's ehances if they had to make 150 for the last knock. He was unable to detect any weakness in S. J. McCabe, who was a really great ericketer. If Don Bradman was also playing at the top of his form, the test story would be very dilferent.
