ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY CONCLUDES ITS SEASON

The third and final concert of the 1932 season was given by the Opotiki Orchestral Society in the Regent Theatre on Tuesday evening. Next year's concerts will commence shortly after March. wlien greatly increased membership is anticipated. Tuesday evening's function was a financial suceess, the items going with a great deal of swing. The following was the programme. Selection "Opera Marta" (Flowton); baritone solo "Serenade" (Drigo), Mr. J. Young; violin and clarionet duet Miss D. Wolfe and Mr. W. Young; grand overture "The Barber of Seville (Rossini); violin solo "Andante," "Yiolin Concerto" (Mendelssoh'n), Miss D. Wolfe, L.A.B.; piano duet "Les Sylpes" (Baehmann), Miss L. and O. Parlcinson; .waltz "Rose Queen" (Barman; "Grand Opera Exerpts," "Anvil Chorus" "Ah Che la Morte" (Ognora) Maia Choir and Orchestra from "II | Trovatore" (Verdi). Piano solo "The Rustle of Spring" (Sinding), Miss L. Parkinson, F.T.C.L., L.A.B., L.L.C.M. intermezzo "Moon Moths" (Kussner); violin solo "Czardas" (Monti), Mr. G. S. Pearce; soprano solo "Queen of the Earth" (Caro Pinsuti) Mrs. T. Burke; selection "March Hongroise" (Berlioz); National Anthem. Miss L. Parkinson acted as accompanist and Mr. Ian Thompson as condictor
