executive meeting ROTORUA CLUB ARRANGEMENTS FOR BOXING DAY CARNIVAL INTER-CLUB COMPETITION The president, Col. E. G. Fraser presided at the monthly meeting of the Rotorua Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club held on Tuesday evening, when many important matters affecting the club's -activities and the Boxing Day carnival were discussed. In accordanee with the rules of the club respecting entry fees and subscriptions, it was decided stringently to enforce the payment of these before the next evening sports meeting, toj morrow evening. It was also decided that competitors in arrears would be debarred from competing. i In addition to donations to the club already acknowledge^, the committee , expressed its appreciation of the ac-
tion of the followmg who had presented gear and given other assistance to the club. Messrs A. Griffiths (shot); A. Ivean (rake) Mehrtens (cartage), v» . u. Harwood (donation) and Mr. and Mrs. Pennington (trophy). The club is particularly indebted to Mr. D. Cambie for the erection at his own expense of a shed at the Government grounds for club purposes and the storage of gear. Sub-Centre Meeting Tne seeretary reported on the business tramacted at a meeting of the Waikato sub-centre held in Hamilton rceently and it was resolved that the programme for the annual inter-club comprtitions be approved with the suggestion that the first meeting be neid at Hamilton during February, ib33. uIls ueeided to commenee the ^..nuary-b eoruary series of club competitions on January 13, the programme for the series being left to ! the programme committee. Trophy orI ders for the winners of the present ' series will be presented at the club I dance to be held on the evening of I Boxing Day. Boxing Day Meeting The arrangements for the carnival sports meeting on Boxing Day were discussed at length and as a 6onclusion to the meeting it was decided to hold a club dance in the evening for the purposes of presentation of trophlies and entertainment for visiting athletes . Complimentary tickets to the sports are to be issued to all competitors and donors of trophies and cash. An additional hurdles event, 120 yards, was added to the Boxing Day programme as a representative event betwean competing clubs. To select the Rotorua Club's representative an event over this distance has also been added to the evening meeting programme for December 16. Ilandicaps and events for this week's meeting will be published in the "Post" to-morrow.
