HAWKE'S BAY INCREASE. Last week a representative of The Hawke's Bay Tribune noticed whilst motoring through Central Hawke's Bay, that iarmers in that district were saving large are-as for rye-gp'ass seed. To confirm this opinion. inquiries were made at the -office of the Department of Agriculture to find out the area registered in Central Hawke's Bay afor certificktion. No fewer than 21 farmers have sent in applications, representing 930 acres, divided into at le'ast "sixty paddocks. _ The crops generally throughout this district struck our representative as being distinctly promising. A local seed merehant who had visited this district recently formed the opinion that the crops in Central Hawke's Bay would be ready to harvest before the bulk of the crops on the Heretaunga Plains.
