DAIRYING IN NORTH
INCREASE OF 25 PER, CENT. FIGURES FOR OCTOBER. An increase of 25 per cent. compared with the total for the corresponding' month' last year is shown in the production of butter at the Ruawai Dairy Company's factory (Dargaville) for the month of October, and in spite of a reduction of ld per lb butter -fat in the advance payment, suppliers will receive considerably over £1000 more for last month's supply than for October, 1931. Splendid conditions for butter-fat production have prevailed during the present season and the volume of but-ter-fat supplied to the factory to date exceeds thatj during the same period last season by over 130,0001b. The advances to date are nearly £4000 in excess of the total up to October last season. Detailed figures are as follows, the j previous season's figures being given in parentheses: Butter-fat supplied: ' October, 317,4201b (257,713); season to date, 684,6761b (554,6091b). Advance payments: October, 1932, at lOd, £13,148; 1931, at ild, £11,787; season to date, £29,179 (£25,512). Butter production: October, 1932, 17Stons (140 tons); season to date,' 374 tons (303 tons).
