During the week-end, a visiting tennis team from Tirau, met represientatives of the Mamaku Club, in a friendly contest. . A most enjoyable day was spent and resulted in a win for Mamaku by 15 matches to 8. Following are the results, Mamaku play^rs being mentioned first: — Mixed Doubles Reed and Miss Brennan beat Bragg and Miss Clarke, 7.3; Lockie and Miss J. Brennan beat Gray -and Miss. Hetherington, 7.3; Carron and Miss Thorne lost to Davies and Miss Shaw, 2-7; Brown and Miss Lockie lost to Inman and Miss Rolfe, 2.7; McGuire and Miss Carron beat Strong and Mrs. Craig, 7.0; Thorne and Miss McCarthy beat Craig and Miss Mouldey, 7-3, Men's Doubles Reid and Thorne beat Bragg and Gray, 7.5; Carron and Lockie lost to Davis and Inman, 4-7; McGuire and Brown beat Strong and Craig. 7-4. Ladies' Doubles Misses Brennan beat Misses Clarke and Hetherington, 7.5; Mesdames Lockie and Thorne lost to Miss Shaw and Mrs. Craig, 6-7 ; Misses McCarthy and Carron lost to Miss Rolfe and Miss Mouldey, 3-7. Men's Singles Reid lost to Bragg, 3-7: Brown lost to Strong. 2-7; Lockie lost 'to Davies, 5-7; Carron beat Inman, 7-6; Thorne beat Craig, 7-4. Ladies' Singles Miss Brennan beat Miss Clarke, 7-3; Miss J. Brennan beat Miss Hetherington, 7-1; Mrs. Thorne beat Miss Shaw, 7-6; Mrs. Lockie beat Miss Rolfe, 7-3; Miss Carron beat Mrs. Craig, 7-6; Miss McCarthy beat Miss Mouldey, 7-5.
