The Gove.rnment meteoroloplst issned the following weather report and forecast last nis;ht: — General Situation: Pressure remains low to the east 'of New Zeal'and, while ti is high over the Tasman Sea; the intensive depression which has developed over the interior of Adstralia is likely to bring a change in the type—of weather after two or three days. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong from between westerly and southeriy, shortly becoming more gerierally southeriy. Weather: Mainly fair and coll with some scattered showers, more 6specially in coastal districts of the South lsland and in the mountains. Following are the barometer, rnaximum and minimum therjmometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Governrnent Qbservation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.539ins. Thermometer (max.) 65.1deg. Thermometer (min.) 49.8deg. Thermometer (min. on grass') 42.6deg. Rainfall Trace Bright Sunshine 1.2hrs.
