ST. LUKE'S LADIES' GUILD HOLD ANNUAL SALE The annual sale of work by the St. Lulce's Ladies' Guild took place in the Parish Hall last Friday afternoon, and despite the "hard times" business was brisk and a goodly financial balance was realised. The bazaar was opened at 1 1a.m. by the Ven. Archdeacon Chatterton, who in a few words wished the ladies every success with their stalls. The workers had spent a considerable amount of time and labour in making the stalls loolc attractive and by the evening most of the articles had been sold. The following ladies were responsible for the various stalls: — Plain sewing and fancy work: — Mesdames W. W. P. Hall, G. C8 Hitchcock, P. A. Kusabs and E. Crawford. Flowersf — Mesdames G- French and C. Newson. Sweets: — Mesdames L. J. Bayfeild, F. C. Bunyard and Miss D. Corlet. Miscellaneous : — Mesdames J. Halkett and J. S. Hinton. Cakes: — Mesdames J. F. Thomas and C. Gibson. Produce: — Mesdames Lasenby, H. H- Davis and Miss Bloomfield. Surprise Packets: — Mrs. J. M. Hemphill. Ice Cream: — Miss P. St. blair. Bran Tnb: — Mrs. F. Moorehouse. Tea Stalls: — Mesdames D. Steele, W. Pakes and C. R. Lloyd. During the afternoon several competitions were held, the winners being: — Guessing- the weight of a cake (71b.), Mrs. J- Halkett; cork piercing competition, Mrs. Gibson; dinner, Mrs^J^M^Iemphill^^^^^^^^^^
