CUSTOMS REVENUE

ELEYEN MONTHS' RETURN S SHOW CONTINUED DECREASE. The Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington for the month of November was £178,928. as compared with £204,961 for the same month last year, a decrease of £26,033. The total revenue for the eleven months of the year was £1,893,174, as compared v/ith £2,074,554 for the similar period last year, a decrease of £181,380. Motor spirit duty collected last month was £51,976, as compared with £42.405 for November of last year, an increase of £9571. The figures for the eleven months showed under this head an increase of £56,799. The tyre tax last month yielded £2332, an increase fo£1157 over the sum collected in November of last year. For the eleven months there was a decrease of £4445. The beer excise for th'e past month amounted to £7976 as comyared with £5799 for November, 1931, an increase of £2177. For the last eleven months there was an increase of £8530, as compared with the revenue received in the eleven months last year.
