TO BE INCORPORATED IN NATIVE LAND SCHEME ANOTHER AREA AVAILABLE
Wellington, Tuesday. A clause in the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill cancels the reservation over the Guthrie domain and inner bank reserve and makes the land available for native land development purposes. In order to round Off the bonndaries of Horohoro native land development block and to give a portion frontage to the AtiamUriRotorua Road, it is desired to include in the block, the river bank reserve area on the Pokaitu stream and also the land comprised in the Guthrie domain. There are no objections to the river bank reserve area which comprises some 11 acres being so dealt with and the same applies. to the domain* of 192 acres. No improvements are to., be effected on the domain, and the controlling board has agreed to the proposal. A more suitable recredtion - area is to he made available *out of native land in- the vicinity^ The clause cancels the reservation over the river bank reserve area and, domain and provides that they shall become a portion of the native land, development area. Provision is also made for the setting apart of the new domain to meet the needs of the loCality. It is proposed also, to include th'e travelling stock reserve of 16 acres in the development block. This^ hoWever-, can he done under the existing. statutory authority. A new stock paddock in a ■more convenient position, will he set apart in its p'lace,;out of native land.
